Young Junior Tennis Players from Laurel Park Tennis Center Gain Invaluable Experience as Ball Kids for Georgia Tech Men’s Tennis Matches

A great group of our enthusiastic young junior tennis players from Laurel Park Tennis Center continue to proudly serve as ballboys and ballgirls for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Men’s Tennis Team for the 2026 season. These aspiring athletes have played a key role in keeping matches running smoothly while competing against some of the nation’s top collegiate men’s teams on the Tech campus.

Georgia Tech is one of the few — and often cited as the only — NCAA Division I programs that regularly uses ball kids for its home dual matches, creating a truly professional atmosphere. For the juniors from Laurel Park, this has been more than just an exciting day at the courts — it’s been a hands-on, educational experience that accelerates their growth as players and young competitors.

“Being on court with college athletes teaches focus, quick thinking, court awareness, and professionalism,” said a Tennis Dynamics coach involved with the program. “Our kids come back energized, more disciplined, and inspired to train harder. It’s one of the best development opportunities we can offer them.”

The young participants, many still in elementary or middle school, have worked matches against powerhouse programs, giving them front-row exposure to high-level tennis and the discipline required at the collegiate level.

Laurel Park Tennis Center continues to prioritize holistic player development through its various junior programs. The programs at the park emphasize fundamentals, hard work, and a love for the game — values perfectly reinforced by experiences like serving as ball kids at Georgia Tech
